Getting the Perfect Dining Set For the Home
February 2nd, 2010 by

A dining set is a particularly sensible thing to invest in. Around that dining table is where life changing conversations can take place, where holidays are celebrated, and where strangers are permitted to feel welcome. Remember, though, when you finance your new dining table, you’ll require some cash for groceries also. Each of the dining sets discussed below was researched as a 7-piece set and includes a cherry wood finish, but they differ in type and expense, so ideally one of them is going to be suitable for your home. A nice item for you to consider is the Black End Table.

Ethan Allen is a nationally recognized furniture company, as they routinely market top-quality home furnishings at especially reasonable prices. In Ethan Allen’s case, though, “reasonable” will not necessarily mean “cheap” – it merely assures you that you are assured of getting your money’s worth. The Maison dining collection looks like 18th century France although it could last easily into your grandchildren’s era. This cherry wood dining table comes with a scalloped apron, cabriole legs, and a plank-effect dining surface.  The coordinating wheat-back chairs are obviously French provincial in fashion, with finely carved sheaves of wheat decorating the back rest. The cabriole legs tie them to table, and the padded seat is provided in fabric or leather for elegant comfort.  Ethan Allen’s cherry wood darling is a beautiful and well made dining set, and although the $3600 purchase price for the table and six chairs might seem extreme, this Maison collection is worth every Treasury bill.

If you prefer a smart dining set, but can’t rationalize such a large price, perhaps Meijer can enable you to fill up your dining room in a more affordable manner. The Dixie 7 piece dining set comes with dark wood inlay accents as well as a lovely cherry finish. The legs are graceful and angled, and the corner edging offers a contemporary flavor to this very traditional set. Four matching side chairs and two arm chairs all boast some classy rail chair backs and especially comfortable microfiber cushions which look good and clean up quickly. For approximately $850, this set will probably blend nicely with quite a few living styles and would look stunning with a Thanksgiving turkey on top. Also, take a look at the Black Round End Table.

JC Penney finishes our little tour with the Cameron Place dining set, which is an attractive and solid mid-priced dining set. The 7-piece set is comprised of a cherry finish 72″ table which is able to extend to 90″, two arm chairs and four side chairs, each one of which include great looking polyester upholstery and distinctive crisscross backs.  The complete set is made using rubberwood, a species of hardwood found in Southeast Asia which features some exceptional density and resiliency.  $1600 will move this set into your house, where you may gather around it for years to come.

If you are ready for a new dining set, one of the sets here is likely to meet your needs. As with most substantial home furnishings, you absolutely should invest in the best product you can afford – just ensure you can really afford it. You may also want to look into the Round End Table.
