Why use a buyers agent in your Portland real estate transaction
March 23rd, 2010 by

Some real estate buyers mistakenly feel that they are better off negotiating an offer on their own without an agent. Most of the time, however, this just is not at all true. Actually, the exact opposite is true. Most people who have tried it regret it. Studies illustrate that using a buyer’s agent can pay handsome “dividends” when it comes to your Portland real estate negotiation.

It’s a bonus that you don’t have to pay for the agent’s commissions up front — your agents commission comes out of the seller’s side of the transaction and was no doubt calculated into the price of the house. But the most important benefit is that you can save significant money on the bottom line when the transaction is finalized.

Employing an experienced real estate pro on your side of the transaction when you’re entering into a contract where a lot of money changes hands is simply good idea on its own merit. But add to that the potential bettering of your financial position as a result of the expert skills an agent can exercise on your behalf and it really ought to be a no-brainer. There are far too many ways to loose your hard-earned cash on a deal not to have someone who negotiates Portland real estate purchases on a daily basis to keep the information (and signatures) flowing smoothly.
